Welcomed as Sons and Daughters

"But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house...For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield." Psalm 5:7,12

This is a stunning verse. I am welcomed into the Presence of the Holy God of the universe. The God who created the stars, who formed the earth, and made me. The God who has not, does not, and will not, commit any evil. He alone is perfect. He alone is all powerful. Now let's look at me: sinful, proud, and scared. I have rejected my Maker time and time again, and I continually slap Him in the face, screaming that He is not sufficient. How does the Lord respond? He doesn't wipe me out like He so easily could. No, He pursues me. He doesn't leave me. He sent His Son for me. Through His Son, I am counted as righteous and He beckons me to enter His house. Through the abundance of love Christ had for me, I am covered and adopted by God. As the band Leeland so accurately penned, I am "Carried to the Table" of God.

"But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy..." Psalm 5:11

We can do nothing but sing for joy. Sing because He loves us, sing because He bought us, sing because we are His and He is ours!
